Who are the West Yorkshire Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub (‘the Hub’)?
The Hub supports staff and volunteers across West Yorkshire who are dedicated to the health, wellbeing, and social needs of their local communities. In essence, it provides support to the people who support West Yorkshire.
As a not-for-profit organisation, The Hub is completely free to access. All services are confidential, with information only shared at the request of the individual or when legally required—for instance, in safeguarding situations.
The Hub’s small team of psychologists, psychotherapists, and clinicians bring extensive experience from the NHS and voluntary sectors. This deep understanding of regional challenges and the wider healthcare system allows them to offer accessible, tailored support to a diverse workforce. Their expertise includes racial trauma, cultural humility, long-term health conditions, and neurodiversity.
The Hub aims to be responsive and client-centred, delivering meaningful, relevant mental health and wellbeing support.
Organisational Support
The Hub helps organisations, charities, and teams build healthier workplace cultures and better support their people. Services include expert advice and guidance to embed trauma-informed, mentally healthy practices, along with proactive strategies to address emerging issues before they escalate. Responsive support is also available for teams experiencing potentially traumatic events at work.
Individual Support
For individuals, The Hub offers:
- Practical Help: Advice, guidance, and resources to support wellbeing, as well as opportunities to connect with others through reflective groups and peer support networks.
- Psychological Therapy: While not a crisis service, The Hub specialises in work-related distress, offering personalised support and, where appropriate, referrals to other services.
The ultimate aim is to empower staff and volunteers to continue delivering high-quality care across West Yorkshire.
