Energy Neighbours is recruiting in Huddersfield! Could you become one of our Community Workers?

Community Worker job in Huddersfield. Closing date Sunday 9th November!

Do you have experience working or volunteering in the voluntary sector? Are you interested in working with communities to find a sustainable solution to save energy?

Energy Neighbours is an amazing, exciting opportunity for local community organisations and anyone who cares about our communities to make a real difference.

Third Sector Leaders Kirklees is a local charity, with a membership of hundreds of local community organisations.  TSL Kirklees Energy Neighbours project has been awarded over £900,000 of funds from The National Lottery Community Fund, to empower local people to take individual and collective climate action and reduce fuel poverty in their community.

Communities are at the heart of Energy Neighbours. The team will strengthen voluntary and community organisations and involve local residents to reduce the money and power leaking out of our communities. This is not a project delivering lots of meaningless targets – it is about making sustainable change a reality by developing a plan together with community organisations and residents.

The Energy Neighbours team will work with local residents and organisations as partners – working on shared priorities and concerns where there is a link to energy. A community forum will provide transparency about how the project is developing.

Community funding.  Energy Neighbours has funds for community learning, engagement activities and volunteers.

Built in support network. Energy Neighbours has built in partnerships with local energy experts, Kirklees Climate Commission, a national learning partnership and independent evaluators.

We’re ready for you! We have strong community networks, a new project office next to Dewsbury train station, great IT & finance support and some project staff already recruited. Community Workers will be supported, trained and valued.
