Pharmacy First is an NHS service that allows people to get quick advice and treatment for common conditions directly from their local pharmacy – without needing to see a GP first. It’s designed to make care faster, more convenient, and easier to access.
Through Pharmacy First, pharmacists can assess symptoms, give expert advice, and, where appropriate, provide NHS treatment or medication for conditions such as:
- Earache and ear infections
- Sore throats
- Sinusitis
- Infected insect bites
- Impetigo
- Shingles
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs)
