Lessons from the pandemic: Working with families in poverty in Kirklees

Professor of Social Work Brid Featherstone (School of Human and Health Sciences, University of Huddersfield) will be in conversation with Lucy Wearmouth (Public Health Manager) from Kirklees Council and Andy Petrie and Claire McGlynn from Local Services 2 You. The event will be chaired by Professor Paul Bissell (Professor of Public Health and Dean of the School of Human and Health Sciences).

The aims of the event is:

  • to share research on the national context for families in poverty
  • to explore the issues for families in Kirklees
  • to reflect on the lessons learned during the pandemic about working together with families in poverty
  • to share ideas on future priorities to address the consequences of the pandemic.
