One Community The Hirst Brierley Fund

***UPDATE: THIS FUND IS STAYING OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS UNTIL FRIDAY 2ND JULY***

The Hirst Brierley Fund supports activities that will reduce climate change, for example through energy efficiency, renewable energy or creation and management of green spaces.

Climate change and lack of bio-diversity present major threats to human wellbeing both locally and around the world. These problems will have direct impacts locally, through increased flooding and extreme weather events, and also indirect effects from resource shortages and population pressures as parts of the world become more difficult to live in.

Actions to reduce climate change can also have positive effects on the local environment and benefits to the health and comfort of local people.

The fund will provide grants of up to £3000 to fund in whole or in part projects such as:

  • Energy efficiency in lighting or heating

  • Insulation or window improvement

  • Renewable energy

  • Tree planting or creation of green spaces

  • Land or river management

Grant applications should tell us how the project will reduce climate change, and what other benefits it will have for the global and local environment or local communities.

This fund will open again on June 1st and close for applications on June 30th 2021.
