Supported Internship Programme Opportunity
Project SEARCH is a full-time 1 year supported internship programme supported by Kirklees College. It is a highly successful transition to work initiative for students aged 18-24 with a learning disability and/or Autism. It is targeted at students whose goal is competitive employment within the local community.
Throughout the year, the interns have three work site placements to help them build the skills required to gain and maintain employment in their chosen sector. Placements are matched to their career aspirations, skills and personal development goals. Their tutor and Job Coach will work alongside them to support them in their development towards meaningful employment.
It is a 5 days a week programme, Monday – Friday and they are looking to grow placement opportunities in the local Kirklees areas.
The scheme does not cost the employer anything, you will gain a committed, hardworking member of the team ready to learn new skills and contribute to the success of the company. Each placement lasts 10 weeks and can be extended if there is the potential of a job outcome at the end.
Get in touch with Suzanne Kidd, Programme Lead at SKidd@kirkleescollege.ac.uk if you would like to discuss this opportunity for your organisation.
