Third Sector Help Needed on 'Poverty-Proofing the School Day' Project

Appeal to groups interested in co-designing & co-producing a new initiative to help identify and reduce disadvantage in school-age children

Sean Hurry, Policy and Strategy Consultant at Kirklees Council has asked for help and input from local third sector organisations on developing a new project. This is at a very early stage, but he would like to hear from groups who may have innovative ideas about how to make this happen.

The aim of the initiative is:

Through locality-based training, school staff will be upskilled to identify and overcome the barriers to learning associated with household poverty: ensuring children living in poverty are supported and given the opportunity to aspire, achieve, and fulfil their ambitions in a safe inclusive learning environment.
