TSL Chair showcases TSL Kirklees community anchor network at partnership conference

plus Opportunity for organisations to share their partnership stories and host ‘Shaped By People’ workshops

We were delighted that our Chair, Andy Petrie from LS2Y was asked to be the Keynote Speaker at this year’s Picture of Kirklees Partnership Conference earlier this month. The event brought together key Council staff, elected members and over 100 partner organisations (including representatives from our sector and Lead and Local Community Anchors) to explore the Council’s new shared outcome, ‘Shaped By People’, and a new aim to ‘Work Alongside’. It also gave us the opportunity to celebrate the great work that our sector is doing in communities and showcase the fantastic work that our TSL Kirklees Community Anchors are doing to support local grassroots organisations and meet local needs.

Andy’s speech included 2 short case studies videos about Community Anchor work in Ashbrow (with Lead Huddersfield Anchor, LS2Y) and Thornton Lodge (with Local Anchor, Thornton Lodge Action Group). (See below)

GEt involved

As part of the process to move towards more partnership working and involving local citizens, the Council’s Local Democracy Team are looking for:

  • Organisations to host workshops where local people can share their stories and experiences of ‘Shaped By People’
  • And stories of organisations ‘Working Alongside’ each other to make local places better for the people who work, live and play there.

If you are interested in taking part, please email Democracy@Kirklees.gov.uk.
