TSL Kirklees Volunteering is the official Volunteer Centre for Kirklees
This means that we’re here to help you get started on your volunteering journey and support you through the process.
We also make sure that any groups or charities that advertise for volunteers on our website will look after their volunteers properly. Some of them will have a stamp of approval called the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award (KVQA), which means that they’ve done even more to make sure that their volunteers are valued and have a good experience.

Kirklees Museums - sharing amazing stories of past and present to inspire the future. Our museums and galleries include; Oakwell Hall and Country Park, Tolson Museum, Bagshaw Museum and Huddersfield Art Gallery.
Oakwell Hall is a Grade I Listed Elizabethan manor house, furnished as a family home of the 1690s.
Outdoors, you can explore 110 acres of Green Flag Award winning country park with period gardens, nature trails, mountain bike track, playground and picnic areas, gift shop and cafe.
Join Our Gardening Volunteer Group at Oakwell Hall Country Park
Oakwell Hall and Country Park are looking for volunteers from all backgrounds to help care for our beautiful historic gardens. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already enjoy being outdoors, you’ll be warmly welcomed.
Our gardening group meets every Thursday from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, working alongside our park rangers on a variety of seasonal activities. Tasks might include light grass cutting, weeding, pruning, planting, and general garden care—there’s always something for everyone to get involved in.
You don’t need any previous experience. We’ll show you everything you need to know, and you can take part at your own pace.

We provide gloves and any necessary protective equipment. All you need is sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.

This role is subject to a short probationary period.
