TSL Kirklees Volunteering is the official Volunteer Centre for Kirklees
This means that we’re here to help you get started on your volunteering journey and support you through the process.
We also make sure that any groups or charities that advertise for volunteers on our website will look after their volunteers properly. Some of them will have a stamp of approval called the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award (KVQA), which means that they’ve done even more to make sure that their volunteers are valued and have a good experience.

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire.
We’re here for any family confronted with the news their child has a life-shortening condition, however, wherever and whenever they need us. By providing superb nursing care, hydrotherapy, creative therapy, days out, memory making, end of life care, bereavement support and counselling, Forget Me Not helps families make the most of every moment they have together.
This year we need over £6.5 million to provide vital care and support to local children and families. Only a small proportion comes from the government or NHS, so we must raise over 80% of that ourselves.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) rates us as ‘outstanding’. This puts us in the top 1% of all of the organisations they inspect.
The Role:
We are looking for volunteers to assist our Online Team in raising the essential funds which allow us to continue supporting local children and their
families.
Do you have an interest in treasure hunting and parcel wrapping? We are looking for volunteers to help us process the kindly donated items at our Manchester Road Furniture Shop, Thornton Lodge, Huddersfield, HD1 3JG. Previous experience of working with online selling platforms is useful, but not essential as full training will be provided. Any specialist item knowledge is welcomed.
Tasks and activities:
As part of this role, you will support with the day-to-day running of our online shop, in which some of the activities may include:
- Handling and processing potentially fragile items as well as detailed product testing, including electronics
- Taking quality photos and packaging items to post
- Helping to keep work spaces organised
- Being an advocate for Forget Met Not by promoting the work we do and the importance of raising funds
Commitment: Minimum ½ day per week (all our volunteer roles are flexible)
For this role you will need to be:
- Friendly, enthusiastic and reliable
- Flexible, creative and have an attention to detail in an ever-changing environment
- Honest, self-aware and have a willingness to learn
In return, as one of our volunteers, you will have the opportunity to:
- Be part of a friendly team and meet new people to boost your mental health and increase social skills
- Receive a full induction with continued support to further grow your skills and confidence
- Build independence and further personal development
We offer reimbursement of travel expenses when you volunteer 4 hours or more at a time.
