TSL Kirklees Volunteering is the official Volunteer Centre for Kirklees
This means that we’re here to help you get started on your volunteering journey and support you through the process.
We also make sure that any groups or charities that advertise for volunteers on our website will look after their volunteers properly. Some of them will have a stamp of approval called the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award (KVQA), which means that they’ve done even more to make sure that their volunteers are valued and have a good experience.

Oxfam’s network of over 650 shops is run by 23,000 volunteers and shop managers. Through the sale of donated goods and new products the shops contribute millions of pounds each year to help fund Oxfam’s crucial work.
This role is based at our Shop at Foldhead Mills, Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, WF14 8BE. Our homeware stores sell good quality second-hand furniture, clothing, books, music and homewares.
We are currently looking volunteers on a Monday to Sunday 9.00am - 1.00pm or 1.00pm -5.00pm.
Tasks may include:
- Using the shop’s guidelines to sort and price donated clothes, books, homewares etc.
- Receiving donations from the public and ensure they are stored safely
- Providing excellent customer service on the shop floor
- Creating attractive displays across the shop
- Promoting our Gift Aid scheme and our exciting sustainable fashion campaigns such as ‘Second-Hand September’.
Travel expenses are offered and there is a lunch allowance if volunteering a full day in line with Oxfam’s Volunteer Expenses Policy.
This is a great opportunity to gain retail experience with an international charity.
