design a card competition - for volunteers week 2026
Help us celebrate National Volunteers Week by designing a card we can use to thank Volunteers across Kirklees.
What’s the idea?
We’re celebrating Volunteers’ Week by creating a special card to say a huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers in Kirklees—and we want your help designing it!
What to design:
Create a card that shows appreciation, gratitude, and the impact volunteers make. It can be heartfelt, fun, creative—whatever you think best captures the spirit of volunteering.
Who can enter?
Anyone! We will have a specific category for Ages 0-10 years, 11-17 years and 18+. Whether you’re a creative student, or part of the community —get involved.
Design tips:
- Think about themes like kindness, community, teamwork, or making a difference – Keep it positive and uplifting
- You can go hand-drawn, digital, collage—anything goes
- Try to keep text minimal but meaningful (e.g. “Thank You Volunteers”)

Format:
- Portrait or landscape, size A5 (half of an A4 page)
- Digital designs (no AI), can be submitted by email as an image file (JPEG /PNG) mailto:volunteer@tslkirklees.org.uk
- Hand-drawn/painted designs can either be delivered in person at one of 3 locations or scanned/photographed and emailed.
- Locations to drop your designs off: Brian Jackson House, Huddersfield, HD1 5JP, Dewsbury Library Hub, The Walsh Building, Town Hall Way, Dewsbury WF12 8EE or Batley Library 14 Market Place, Batley WF17 5DA.
Deadline:
Monday 13th April 2026 at 10am.
Prize:
The 3 winning designs (one from each age category) will be professionally printed and distributed to local charities and community groups as our official Volunteers’ Week card design for Kirklees. We will also share the designs on our website and social media. The 3 Winners will also receive a Gift Voucher.
The winners will be contact by either email or phone number during the week commencing 20th April 2026.
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to return any artwork so make sure you are happy for us to keep it!
How to enter:
Send your design to mailto:volunteer@tslkirklees.org.uk with your name, and contact details (either email or phone number). If you are under 18 then please also include your age, and the contact details need to be for your parent/guardian.
OR
Drop your design off at one of our 3 collection points, ensuring your name, and contact details are included on the back of your design. If you are under 18 years then please include your age and the contact details must be for your parent/guardian.
