TSL Kirklees Volunteering is the official Volunteer Centre for Kirklees
This means that we’re here to help you get started on your volunteering journey and support you through the process.
We also make sure that any groups or charities that advertise for volunteers on our website will look after their volunteers properly. Some of them will have a stamp of approval called the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award (KVQA), which means that they’ve done even more to make sure that their volunteers are valued and have a good experience.

Streetbikes is a local charity that supports a positive change to health and wellbeing through cycling. We are an inclusive cycling charity who run mixed ability cycling sessions at Spenborough athletics track, Liversedge and run a bike recycling workshop in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield.
Streetbikes is dependent upon a friendly and dedicated team of volunteers to work alongside Streetbikes’ employees to support our clients.
Streetbikes has an extensive stock of maintained bikes, including tricycles, adaptive bikes, wheelchair bikes, recliners, handcycles and more.
We offer our services to individuals, care organisations, corporate settings, families, schools and whoever needs some support to get on a bike.
We aim to surmount barriers to enjoying a bike ride, in a social, safe outdoor environment.
Currently our track session run from 10:30am to 2:30pm on a Tuesday & 12:30pm to 3:00pm on a Saturday.
We also have our Milnsbridge office & bike recycling workshop.
Take a look for yourself by visiting the Streetbikes website.
PUTTING SMILES ON FACES :}
Supporting adults and children to enjoy an outdoor cycle session around an enclosed athletics track. Many of our clients are vulnerable & supporting them is enormously rewarding.
You would be part of a team of friendly volunteers, collectively running the track sessions at the Princess Mary Stadium, Liversedge.
We have roles for volunteers on a Tuesday and / or a Saturday anytime between 10.00am - 3.00pm.
Volunteers bring varied attributes to the role. Any of the following tasks are available for you to engage in:
- Admissions: – Seated at the admissions table, welcoming clients, booking them in for their track session, taking payments & directing clients to the track side.
- Managing the charities cycle helmets: – Matching helmet to the client, adjusting & fitting where required.
- Matching suitable bikes to an individuals client needs. From a basic two wheeler to adaptive bikes, wheelchair bikes & more.
- Track patrol: – Cycling the enclosed running track, ensuring the users are adhering to the rules.
- Packing & un-packing of bikes from the on-site storage containers.
- Being a friendly volunteer, welcoming clients, chatting to us all & generally helping out
- Community rides: – Assist in taking riders out along the Spen Valley Greenway for a more extensive cycle ride
The role is an excellent opportunity to be part of a supportive team, build confidence and make new friends.
Our volunteers are of all ages, Streetbikes is inclusive and welcomes potential volunteers to visit for a taster session before committing.
