TSL Kirklees Volunteering is the official Volunteer Centre for Kirklees
This means that we’re here to help you get started on your volunteering journey and support you through the process.
We also make sure that any groups or charities that advertise for volunteers on our website will look after their volunteers properly. Some of them will have a stamp of approval called the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award (KVQA), which means that they’ve done even more to make sure that their volunteers are valued and have a good experience.

We are a charity that cares for 2000 miles of waterways. We believe life is better by water and we’re working with volunteers and communities across England and Wales to transform canals and rivers into spaces where local people want to spend time and feel better. We know this will bring wellbeing opportunities to millions. Our work involves not only looking after our waterways, but promoting them widely to the eight million plus people who have waterways on their doorstep so that many more people benefit from our free, accessible and local source of wellbeing.
This a unique opportunity for people to come out and join us in on the Huddersfield Canals and help keep Huddersfield looking it best.
We will be running the events on the 2nd Saturday of each month!
Our main aim will be collect litter and remove graffiti from the tow path. We believe the benefits of being outside, working with others and giving back to the community are valuable. It's a great chance to meet similar people, do something important and learn about how we look after the canals and rivers.
These teams are always led by a Lead Volunteer, who will make sure that you have the best time and help care for the local waterways.
This Taskforce will involve a short walk down the tow path. We will meet close to Huddersfield and then walk a section of canal working as we go.
