TSL Kirklees Volunteering is the official Volunteer Centre for Kirklees
This means that we’re here to help you get started on your volunteering journey and support you through the process.
We also make sure that any groups or charities that advertise for volunteers on our website will look after their volunteers properly. Some of them will have a stamp of approval called the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award (KVQA), which means that they’ve done even more to make sure that their volunteers are valued and have a good experience.

Uniform Exchange is the Kirklees community school uniform bank. We serve the local community by recycling out-grown school uniform across Kirklees providing families with financial challenges and in crisis with FREE school uniform. We do this by encouraging families through the primary and secondary schools to recycle and donate their child’s out-grown school uniform to the project. The service is available to all families in Kirklees no matter what their circumstances.
In 2021 we:
Received over 45,000 items of used school uniform from local families
Helped over 3,500 children across Kirklees with free school uniform including school coats and shoes
Gave out over 1,000 coats at a winter coat exchange
Recycled over 35,000 items of good uniform to families
Stopped over 10 tonnes of unusable uniform going into landfill by recycling through Oxfam
Washed almost 2 tonnes of good, but dirty, school uniform
We have over 15,000 items of school uniform available to access plus more arriving every day!
