TSL Kirklees Volunteering is the official Volunteer Centre for Kirklees

This means that we’re here to help you get started on your volunteering journey and support you through the process.

We also make sure that any groups or charities that advertise for volunteers on our website will look after their volunteers properly.  Some of them will have a stamp of approval called the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award (KVQA), which means that they’ve done even more to make sure that their volunteers are valued and have a good experience.

About the Organisation

We are the patient support organisation for people affected by epidermolysis bullosa (EB) – butterfly skin. We are also one of the largest funders of research into EB treatments and cures.

Role Description
We're recruiting new volunteers for our popular charity shops across the UK. Join our friendly team and do something you'll really love! Whether you're looking to learn new skills, gain experience in retail, meet new people or just have fun, our wide range of activities mean we have a perfect role for everyone.

Our shops are located at:
Salendine Shopping Centre, 144 Moor Hill Road, Huddersfield HD3 3XA
and
350 Meltham Road, Netherton, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire HD4 7EX.

If you are passionate about helping to make a difference through giving your time, then why not get in touch? Please note this is an unpaid volunteering role even although the salary is shown as £0.01.

The role will involve:

· Serving customers and using the computerised till to take payments for purchases

· Sorting donated stock, clothing and bric-a-brac

· Recording donor details for gift-aid

· Using a steaming appliance on donated clothes

· Assisting the shop manager with any other task to keep the shop running efficiently

DEBRA is the national charity that funds research and healthcare to support individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal.
