West Yorkshire Neurodiversity Board: Invitation for Expressions of Interest for a VCSE Autism/ADHD Representative
The West Yorkshire Neurodiversity (WY ND) Board is seeking Expressions of Interest from a representative of a Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisation that works with and for neurodivergent people, to join the Board and contribute to the next phase of neurodiversity transformation work across West Yorkshire.
This role offers a key opportunity to influence strategic direction, ensure the voice of the VCSE sector is embedded in system decision-making, and support the delivery of meaningful, co-produced change for neurodivergent children, young people and adults.
Purpose of the Role:
The VCSE representative will:
- Act as a strategic voice for VCSE organisations supporting neurodivergent people across West Yorkshire
- Contribute to system-wide neurodiversity transformation and improvement work
- Provide insight, challenge and leadership to ensure services are inclusive, equitable and strengths-based
- Support collaboration between statutory partners and the VCSE sector
- Champion co-production and lived-experience-informed approaches
Applicants must:
- Be a senior leader or executive (e.g. CEO, Director, Head of Service, Trustee) within a VCSE organisation
- Have significant experience working within a VCSE organisation that supports neurodivergent people
- Demonstrate strategic leadership experience, including influencing systems, partnerships or policy
- Have a strong understanding of neurodiversity, inclusion, and the challenges faced by neurodivergent people and communities
- Be able to represent sector-wide perspectives, not solely their own organisation
- Lived experience of neurodivergence (personal or through close connection) is welcomed and valued but is not a requirement.
Time Commitment
- Attendance at WY ND Board meetings (approximately bimonthly for 2hrs)
- Occasional involvement in task and finish groups or system workshops
- Preparation and engagement between meetings as required
- Support will be provided to enable meaningful participation
- Reimbursement will be provided in line with the ICB’s VCSE Reimbursement Framework
