YCC Yorkshire Children’s Centre team take on the 24hr National Three Peaks Challenge

On July 23rd a team of walkers from Yorkshire Children’s Centre (YCC) will be taking on the 24hr National Three Peaks Challenge to raise awareness and funds for the regional charity.

YCC works with vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people, and their families within Kirklees and surrounding areas.

The gruelling challenge will see the team of 5 ‘Peaky Walkers’ conquering Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in a 26-mile hike with an ascent of 9843ft all in 24hrs.

The idea came from YCC’s CEO Mark Farmer who is also taking part in the walk alongside other YCC colleagues and said, “We wanted to think of a tough challenge to raise funds for YCC and having completed the same walk many years ago knew this would be the ideal event for us”.

The walk launches YCC’s first fundraising event of this kind for the charity that aims to shine a light on the services they provide whilst at the same time raising vital funds that will help them continue to deliver their services.
