New Chair of Trustees for Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust

Colin Ward is the new chair of trustees at Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust.  Colin has been a trustee at the charity for over fifteen years, during which the Trust has developed and grown.  Colin is a Lecturer in TV Studio Production at York University and has two bafta awards for his work in children’s television at ITV and the BBC.  He is the Deputy Director of the Children’s Media Foundation.  “It’s an exciting and challenging time for the Trust” said Colin, “I look forward to working with staff and Trustees, ensuring the Trust develops as an organisation and continues to provide quality support to local young people.”  Colin will work closely with new CEO Dipika Kaushal, when she joins the Trust in September.

Trustees thank Mark Feeny for his work as Chair of Trustees over the last four years.  Mark has been part of Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust since the 1970’s, as a volunteer, member of staff and trustee.  Mark says, “Other commitments mean that I’m not able to give the role of chair the time and energy it requires. The Trust is a fantastic charity and I’m happy to continue as a trustee.”

Tom Taylor, CEO of the Trust thanked trustees for their work over the years. “Trustees are volunteers who take on responsibility for the governance of the charity and are accountable to the charity commission. They work together to provide just right the combination of support, vision, challenge and calling to account to ensure the Trust is the innovative, effective and sustainable organisation it is today.  Thank you Graeme, Philippa, Mark, Colin, Nazia, Jo and Jonathon.”  Tom leaves the charity at the end of August, after fourteen years as Director and CEO.
