Help Shape the Future of Support for Frontline Workers in Kirklees VCSE Sector
Are you working in a charity, community group, or social enterprise in Kirklees that delivers health and wellbeing services? Your voice is essential!
Take part in the VCSE Workforce Study now – Deadline 18th July
A major new VCSE workforce study (led by The University of Sheffield, Leeds Beckett University and Community Partners) is underway to better understand how we can support people like you – dedicated staff working on the frontlines of community health and wellbeing. Whether you’re helping people stay connected, supporting mental health, or delivering other vital services, we want to hear about your experiences.
Why It Matters
Many people in paid roles in the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector say they don’t get enough professional support – things like training, mentoring, or resources that help them thrive in their roles. This lack of support can lead to burnout and high turnover, affecting not just staff but the communities they serve.
This project, running until 2027, and of which the VCSE workforce study is just one part, is designed to change that. It focuses on creating real, practical improvements that work specifically for organisations like yours – not one-size-fits-all solutions from bigger systems like the NHS.
How You Can Help
Take the survey now to contribute to shaping the tools, training, and support systems that future community organisations across Kirklees (and beyond) can use. The research team is working directly with local organisations in West and South Yorkshire to gather insights and co-develop effective support strategies.
Who Should Take Part?
Anyone in a paid role delivering community-based health and wellbeing services – no matter your job title. If you’re doing the work, your experience counts.
Take the VCSE Workforce Survey and Make Your Voice Heard
It’s completely optional and should take approximately 25 minutes to complete. It is open until 18th July.
If you would prefer to complete the questionnaire with a researcher online/over the phone or need it in another format, then please contact vcseworkforcestudy@sheffield.ac.uk
All responses will be treated confidentially and used for research purposes only. Individual responses will not be shared with your employer (or any other organisations).
As a thank you for your time and contribution, participants who take part in the VCSE Workforce Study and provide their contact details will be entered into a prize draw for one of six £20 vouchers.
We want to hear as many people’s views as possible, so please forward this email to your colleagues/peers.

Let’s build a stronger future for our sector – together!
