The Energy Neighbours Team is expanding!

We’re pleased to announce that three Community Workers have joined the Energy Neighbours Team:

  • Habiban Zaman, Community Worker for Batley & Heckmondwike – Has a background community work, youth work and cohesion and has a wealth of experience of the local area.
  • David Ennis, Community Worker for North Huddersfield – Has a background as an employment adviser and youth worker, with experience as a Green Doctor for Groundwork.
  • Evie Whittingham, Community Worker for South Huddersfield – Has a mixture of experience in volunteering and has most recently worked at community owned hub Marsden Mechanics.

There is still one Community Worker to recruit for the Dewsbury South and West area, with recruitment underway soon.

Recently appointed Energy Neighbours Project Manager Clare Black said, “It is a very exciting time bringing the team together to work on such an new and innovative project, which we hope will have a meaningful impact for communities across Kirklees.  The team are currently undergoing training but are looking forward to getting out and speaking to communities.”

The project is also looking for organisations to provide a desk space in each of the priority areas and is inviting community organisations to apply. You can read more about this and complete the expression of interest here:
