West Yorkshire launches trauma-informed training pilot

West Yorkshire is taking a significant step toward becoming a trauma-informed and responsive system by 2030 with the launch of a new train the trainer pilot. Led by the West Yorkshire Adversity, Trauma and Resilience Programme, this initiative aims to empower professionals to deliver introductory training on adversity, trauma, and resilience within their own organisations.

Who Can Apply?

The programme is seeking participants from the education, health and social care, criminal justice and policing, and VCSE sectors. Ideal candidates will have experience in teaching, training, or facilitation—no formal qualifications required.

What Does the Training Involve?

Successful applicants will complete two face-to-face training days, gaining skills and knowledge aligned with the Transforming Psychological Trauma Knowledge and Skills Framework. This will equip them to deliver a 3.5-hour introductory session on trauma-informed approaches within their workplaces.

How to Apply

Interested professionals are invited to submit a 150-word expression of interest, outlining their role, sector, and relevant experience. Applications should be sent to Anna Comerford, Senior Project Manager, ATR Workforce Development, at anna.comerford@nhs.net by Friday 28 February 2025.
